A new crochet shawl pattern in T B Ramsden's new yarn - ANAPHORA

Wendy Pattern No 6088
crocheted in Wendy EVOLUTION a stunning cotton blend yarn by T B Ramsden

Wendy crochet pattern 6088
Same shawl but from the back in another colourway of Wendy EVOLUTION - a soft yarn from WENDY

The new yarn is ANAPHORA a 4ply cotton blend with a regular colour sequence for which this pattern is specifically designed. Each colour sequence is the same length, which means regular changes of colour that one can plan for!
Of course you can just crochet and incorporate the changes - but I think it looks a lot better having each colour change starting at the beginning of a row. The left over bits can be used to add a nice firm front edge and tassels, which is what I did.

The shawl is NOT just a plain triangle - but shaped to drape well around the neck, with no bulk. The front points being longer and narrower to make a less bulky tie - it falls to the elbow so is an elegant length.
The soft 4ply cotton blend means the shawl hangs well

Oooops - forgot to say this yarn comes in a nice big cake - and just ONE ball makes the shawl - whoop de dooo !! :-)

I have also made this pattern up in other yarns and it works out really well!
I have also added scalloped edges ... and just generally played around with the pattern as it is so versatile.
hint ...... I just changed the hook size to ensure a soft pliable drape

I had great fun designing this shawl and absolutely thrilled that T B Ramsden chose to publish it :-)
Thank you!!
